To avoid conflicts of interest, Directors of a Fire Protection District should recuse themselves on matters in which a Director has a substantial interest, nor

• Perform any service for any money other than any attendance fees
• Sell, rent, or lease any property, including goods) in excess of $500 per transaction or $5,000 per year

Unless the transaction* is made purant to an award on a contract or sale made after public notice (bid) was the lowest of at least 3 bids or offers.
