The Board of Directors first elected a Custodian of Records in 2022 to serve until 2024; however, the contract with the Custodian of Records was terminated in November 2023 and Director Mae Nelson is serving as the Custodian of Records Pro Tem.

The Custodian of Records is a 2-year term and does not have to be a Director.

Following the Missouri Sunshine Law and the Missouri State and Local Records Law, the District Custodian of Records:

• Maintains District records
• Approves removal of original public records
• Acts upon requests for access to or copies of public records
